DAM Architectural Book Award 2020

The Frankfurt Book Fair and the Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM) are presenting the jointly initiated International DAM Architectural Book Award for the twelfth time. The DAM would like to thank the Society of Friends of the DAM for its generous support of the prize. The award-winning books will be presented from October 21 – November 8, 2020 in the auditorium of the DAM

INTERNATIONAL HIGHRISE AWARD 2020

The International Highrise Award 2020 presents a selection of current highrise buildings from all over the world according to the following criteria: future-oriented design, functionality, innovative building technology, integration into the urban fabric, sustainability, and economic feasibility. The exhibition shows the winner, the finalists and the nominees comprehen-sively using models, films, photos, drawings and texts. The International Highrise Award is awarded by Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM), DekaBank and the City of Frankfurt/Main.

Greening the City

Can GREEN in architecture improve the climate in cities, reduce heat generation, lower the release of fine dust particles, and increase people‘s well-being? It’s time to develop architecture with regard to green spaces, to upgrade urban spaces, and to consider GREEN not just in terms of ecological aspects.

Since 2007, the DAM Prize for Architecture has been awarded annually to outstanding buildings in Germany. In 2021, the prize will be awarded by the German Architecture Museum (DAM) for the fifth time – in close cooperation with JUNG as a cooperation partner – in a staggered jury procedure.

ENERGIEBROKER identifiziert Schnittstellen-Standards und Lösungsansätze für dezentrale Energiesysteme und bereitet diese vor. Auf Basis eigens entwickelter Soft- und Hardware-Demonstratoren werden die Schnittstellen-Standards im Dialog mit interessierten Partnern aus Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft und Politik zu einem praxisgerechten Standard für den vollautomatischen regionalen Handel kleiner Mengen erneuerbarer Energie erprobt.

Radical Antiquity Heinz Bienefeld’s Villas and Churches

Above all in the Rhineland in Central Germany, Krefeld native Heinz Bienefeld (1926–1995) designed and realized numerous ecclesiastical buildings and residential buildings over a period spanning some 40 years. It is not easy to categorize the style of his architecture, which alternates between the classicism of a Palladio and the contemporary modern.

The European Architectural Photography Prize architekturbild has been awarded every two years since 1995. Since 2003, the award has been bestowed by architekturbild e.v., since 2008 in cooperation with DAM, and since 2016 with a third partner, the Bundesstiftung Baukultur. The competition focuses on the built environment and its photographic and artistic exploration, and always has a predefined motto.
