The museum

The building

DAM illustrates in exemplary fashion what Heinrich Klotz proclaimed to be the guiding principle in post-modern architecture, for it deliberately blends the design of a building with an interior that tells a story.

Duties and Goals

The DAM is not just one of the many museums in the City of Frankfurt, is it also the “German Architecture Museum”, with a national claim.

Vision

It is now more than a century since someone first had the idea of founding an architecture museum in Germany – however, the topic of “Baukultur” is more relevant than ever today.

Friends support. With joy.

We support what is close to our hearts: outstanding architecture. The Society of Friends (Gesellschaft der Freunde des Deutschen Architekturmuseums e.V.) was founded in 1985 and promotes the DAM in the realization of its public duties both ideologically and materially. Can we also rely on you?
