Suburbia

Lush lawns, blue swimming pools, double garages: Suburbia delves into the (visual) worlds of American suburbia – politics, architecture, pop culture and adver – tising have shaped desires . The exhibition traces the rise of suburbia through photos , films, literature, historical
material and art projects and illustrates the historical development of these buildings during the economic boom of post-war Germany with home stories from the magazine Schöner Wohnen.

The City is Sports

Sport and movement are important elements for an active life together and for peaceful coexistence in civic society. This trend is in evidence in cities everywhere: Public parks and open spaces are being transformed into temporary or permanent places for sports, games, and movement. The exhibition, which started out as open-air stations in public space has now been expanded to present 12 projects already realized in Europe and which innovatively integrate sports activities into the urban environment.

The DAM for kids and young people

The DAM’s education program offers children, schoolchildren, and adults access to architectural topics in a playful and practical way. We want to accompany children and young people into the world of architecture, and that begins on their own doorstep. The diversity of the topic makes it possible to connect to the lifeworld of our young guests and to introduce them to building culture and design possibilities.
